Welcome. My name is Miriam White, and I am the founder of Sköld Legacy Creative.
I am a writer, journalist, photographer, archivist, and advocate dedicated to preserving the untold stories of American history — from the cannabis legalization movement, to Indigenous ancestry, to the hidden poetry of the land around us.
After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Women’s Studies, I spent over two decades working at the intersection of activism, journalism, and creative arts. I contributed to High Times, Cannabis Culture, and NORML National in Washington, D.C., and I assisted in the groundbreaking advocacy work of Ed Rosenthal and Jane Klein Represents.

Through the years, I have built a unique archive:
- Documenting the early cannabis movement from a woman’s perspective
- Capturing rare photographs of Superstition Mountain and the Southwest
- Tracing genealogical roots to the St. Regis Mohawk, Seneca, and early American settlers
- Creating vibrant cat photography collections that celebrate the everyday magic of our feline companions
At the heart of it all, my mission is simple:
To honor the legacy of survival, rebellion, and beauty — and to give voice to the stories that history tried to silence.
I live surrounded by mountains, creativity, and the loving company of my cats — who remind me every day that curiosity, resilience, and joy are revolutionary acts.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
